Quilted Wall Hangings        

Debi's wall hangings are designed using a blend of modern and vintage quilt patterns.  They incorporate a mix of fabrics including border prints, batiks, wood prints, color washes and calicos. Most are made with 100% prewashed cotton.

I like the use of bold color with a sky background. Techniques used are fussycutting border prints, strip ,template and paper peicing patterns. All are machine peiced and hand or machine quilted. Some are hung  with macrame on shaped sticks that have been carved and stained by my husband.  I have also used antique doilies and handkercheifs on a few items. I love the timeless look of hand quilting with the tiny puffs of fabric between each stitch that can't be achieved by machine.

Fabric Art:

My fabric art is a blend of various styles of old and new. I have been a quilter for over 30 years and have always loved the wide range of fabrics to chose from and the choices for styles and patterns. I enjoy the creative process of designing quilts and wall hangings to achieve a variety of dimensions and effects.  My usage of bolder fabrics and subtle color choices incorporate shading, movement and dimension into the pieces.  Many of the wall hangings are hung on scraped and stained natural wood and embellished with hand woven macrame for a more rustic look.  Some pieces are original patterns and designs
